Atypical Advantage is a company that works on providing employment to physically disabled people. Its appearance on Shark Tank highlighted a big unemployment ratio with only 0.4% of the 7 crores+ disabled population to be employed. Atypical Advantage founder Vineet Saraiwala works on the unemployment cause and successfully provides employment to 1000+ physically disabled people. The company collaborates with big brands like Amazon, Dell, Godrej, Mahindra Logistics, Asian Paints, and more. Amazon is the biggest employer hiring 60+ employees from the site.

Atypical Advantage started with the mission to provide employment to physically impaired individuals. The population in this category goes through several difficulties while applying on different websites. They are not allowed to upload their CV on the major job sites. Thus, it cuts down their chances of getting a job completely. Here comes a platform that provides a direct connection and employment with the major brands and companies to these people. Atypical is currently connected with more than 100 companies and 100 NGO’s.

It has job opportunities for different talents. Its major verticals are performing artists, atypical art, and inclusive hiring. It provides features like disability sensitisation, post-placement support, mapping, consulting, and interview scheduling through a monthly retainer fee from companies. The Atypical Advantage founder is Vineet Saraiwala. He belongs to Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Vineet is approx 33 years old. He completed his graduation from SBM JC- Centre for Management Studies, Bangalore in 2012 in B.Tech. Later, he pursued MBA in marketing from IIM, Bangalore. Vineet was a summer intern with Hindustan Unilever Limited.

After 2 months of his internship, he got a placement with Future Group India where he worked for 6 years. During the lockdown, he had a lot of resumes from physically disabled people. He was confused about what to do and felt bad to see so much unemployment in the country. He left his job to start Atypical Advantage.

Vineet’s brother is also running an investment bank successfully. Both Vineet and his brother have a genetic rare condition, Retinitis Pigmentosa, a genetic degenerative eye. He has no vision in his left eye. While his right eye has only 10% of the vision remaining. The condition is rare and leads to vision loss as the person ages.

Atypical Advantage Jobs, Salary, And Revenue

The company provides jobs in different segments. According to a salary review page, Ambition Box, the company provides approx Rs. 1 Lakhs per year to Rs. 9 lakhs per year to a QA Engineer. The other estimated positions at the company as per Ambition Box are Project Manager, Lead operator, Deputy Manager, Chief Marketing Officer, Marketing Manager, Information Technology, and many more.

Atypical Advantage Shark Tank Journey

Atypical Advantage shark Tank pitch won the shark’s deals from the beginning. It highlights a cause that was real and concerning for many. Founder Vineet asks for Rs. 30 Lakhs for 1% equity at a valuation of Rs. 30 Crores. Shark Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, and Aman Gupta offer Rs. 30 Lakhs for 4.29% equity at Rs. 7 Crore valuation. While Shark Peyush Bansal offers Rs. 1 Crores for 12% equity at a valuation of Rs. 8.33 Crores.

Vineet counters the sharks. He asks for Rs. 1.2 Crores for 10% equity at a valuation of Rs. 12 crores to Shark Peyush, Namita, Anupam, and Aman together. Shark Anupam and Peyush get out of the deal due to some argument. Thus, Shark Namita and Aman revise the offer to Rs. 30 Lakhs for 3% equity at a valuation of Rs. 10 crores. Vineet accepted the deal.
