Rishita Das also moved to America with Nayrhit. She plays a crucial role in the growth and development of Gushwork. She was an assistant professor of Aerospace Engineering at IISc Bengaluru. They shared the differences between living in India vs America.

Gushwork took funding a year ago. It was the pre-seed funding round where they successfully managed to get $2.1 Million. 1. House Help: The first key difference they shared was the ease of finding house help in India. As labour is cheap in India, the working couple saves a lot of hours in a week through their help. However, it was not possible there.
2. Traffic: They found the traffic in the United States less irritating than in India. The major reason was things are much maintained there. People follow the rules while driving.
3. Digital Convenience: They write India to be much more convenient in terms of delivering groceries. India has options like quick commerce to get the things available on the go. However, America’s intracity logistics needs an improvement.
4. Digital Payments: India has UPI which is a free source of government infrastructure. It is available to use without any transaction charges. While Apple Pay has transaction charges of 2-7%.
5. Orderly Queues: They find the people obeying the queues patiently. However, it is not the same in India as it becomes chaotic.
6. Food: They love the food of both countries but miss the variety in India.
7. Outdoor Activities: The IIT Couple finds that America is a better place for those who love outdoor activities like biking, hiking, and beaches.
8. LGBTQ Friendly: IIT Couple finds America to be LGBTQ friendly. India might take time to completely normalise the community. Many areas started providing equality to LGBTQ. However, things still need a change.
9. Persona Connections: It is difficult to make connections in America. The Indian culture is more welcoming to forming meaningful relationships. However, the IIT couple felt it challenging to have these connections outside their work in America.
